The Race With Map

The Newick Will Page 10k is run mainly on scenic, undulating roads south of the village.  The roads are narrow so runners should keep to the left and not bunch across the roads as traffic moves fast despite warning notices along the course.  The race is headed by a lead car and a Red Cross ambulance will follow the runners.

The race starts outside the Playing Field entrance in Allington Road and joins the main A272 for about 100m before runners turn left down Oxbottom Lane. Ignore a road to the right and take the next right fork leading up to the junction with Cinder Hill.  Turn right and there is a long downhill section to a small bridge over a stream.  There is then a gentle incline up followed by level terrain to the junction with the Main A275.  Turning left there is a long straight before turning left again into Markstakes Lane.  A few hundred yards along is the only Drinks Station at approx 5km. The course is fairly level until an incline down to a stream which is followed by a long steep incline up the other side.  At the top the course turns right and carries along a flat section ignoring one left hand turn and taking the next left down to Font Hill.  Another drop to a stream and then a long medium incline up to the village.  The next left turn is Allington Road and after 100m the course turns left into the Playing Field to the finish outside the Sports Pavilion.
